Psalm

From the psalms of our teacher David the prophet, may his blessings be with us Amen.

Psalm 72:15-15

And He shall live;
        And the gold of Sheba will be given to Him;
        Prayer also will be made for Him continually,
        And daily He shall be praised.

Gospel

Jn 1:14-17

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, "This was He of whom I said, "He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me."'

And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

Pauline Epistle

From the epistle of teacher St. Paul the apostle to the (...), may his blessings be with us Amen.

Heb 1:1— & Heb 2:1-4

God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. For to which of the angels did He ever say:
        "You are My Son,
        Today I have begotten You"?

And again:
        "I will be to Him a Father,
        And He shall be to Me a Son"?

But when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says:
        "Let all the angels of God worship Him."

And of the angels He says:
        "Who makes His angels spirits
        And His ministers a flame of fire."

But to the Son He says:
        "Your throne, O God, is forever and ever;
        A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.
        You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness;
        Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You
        With the oil of gladness more than Your companions."

And:
        "You, LORD, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth,
        And the heavens are the work of Your hands.
        They will perish, but You remain;
        And they will all grow old like a garment;
        Like a cloak You will fold them up,
        And they will be changed.
        But You are the same,
        And Your years will not fail."

But to which of the angels has He ever said:
        "Sit at My right hand,
        Till I make Your enemies Your footstool"?

Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation? Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away. For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward, how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him, God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?

The grace of God the Father be with you all. Amen.

Catholic Epistle

The catholic epistle from the epistle of our teacher St. (...), may his blessings be with us Amen. My beloved.

2Pet 1:12-17

For this reason I will not be negligent to remind you always of these things, though you know and are established in the present truth. Yes, I think it is right, as long as I am in this tent, to stir you up by reminding you, knowing that shortly I must put off my tent, just as our Lord Jesus Christ showed me. Moreover I will be careful to ensure that you always have a reminder of these things after my decease.

For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty. For He received from God the Father honor and glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory: "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."

Do not love the world nor the things in the world. The world passes away, and its desires; but he who does the will of God abides forever. Amen.

Acts of the Apostles

The Acts of our fathers the Apostles, may their holy blessings be with us all. Amen.

Acts 13:26-33

"Men and brethren, sons of the family of Abraham, and those among you who fear God, to you the word of this salvation has been sent. For those who dwell in Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they did not know Him, nor even the voices of the Prophets which are read every Sabbath, have fulfilled them in condemning Him. And though they found no cause for death in Him, they asked Pilate that He should be put to death. Now when they had fulfilled all that was written concerning Him, they took Him down from the tree and laid Him in a tomb. But God raised Him from the dead. He was seen for many days by those who came up with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are His witnesses to the people. And we declare to you glad tidings--that promise which was made to the fathers. God has fulfilled this for us their children, in that He has raised up Jesus.

The word of the Lord shall grow, multiply, be mighty, and be confirmed in the holy Church of God. Amen.

Psalm

From the psalms of our teacher David the prophet, may his blessings be with us Amen.

Psalm 2:7-8

        The LORD has said to Me,
        "You are My Son,
        Today I have begotten You.
        Ask of Me, and I will give You
        The nations for Your inheritance,
        And the ends of the earth for Your possession.

Gospel

Matt 2:1-12

Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him."

When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born.

So they said to him, "In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written by the prophet:
        "But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah,
        Are not the least among the rulers of Judah;
        For out of you shall come a Ruler
        Who will shepherd My people Israel."'

Then Herod, when he had secretly called the wise men, determined from them what time the star appeared. And he sent them to Bethlehem and said, "Go and search carefully for the young Child, and when you have found Him, bring back word to me, that I may come and worship Him also."

When they heard the king, they departed; and behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

Then, being divinely warned in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed for their own country another way.
